changing tire on Escape 19
What's the best way to change a tire on an Escape 19?
If using a jack, what are the appropriate jacking points?
Alternatively, I am thinking of pushing/pulling the trailer so that one wheel is up on boards with the idea that it will raise the other wheel on the same side off the ground. Has anybody done this?
Jay

Jay, I use that one tire on blocks method to service the bearings, works great.

Has anyone used the Trailer Aid Tandem Ramp successfully on a 19?

Thanks to everyone for the quick replies. The Trailer Aid looks very interesting. I plan to do an experiment to see if the advertised 4.5" of lift works for the 19. --Jay

Last week I blew a tire on my 19. Simply drove the other wheel up on levelling blocks and changed the damaged tire. Simple and quick.

Don,
Why did you blow a fairly new tire? Was it defective or under inflated?

Carlisle tire. Under 2000 kl. Yes they are offering to replace it. Pressure was OK. Trailer weight on 4 tires is minimal. Mid 40's. I will run higher in future.

Yes, 50 psi is what I used and some of my trips were 24 hours non-stop marathon runs, never had any problems, knock on wood.

RickM and DonM how high were the blocks that you used to elevate one tire for free access to the other ?

The regular height ramp works good on the Escape 19. It raises the unramped tire aprox. 2.5" clearance to allow the tire change.

Anderson leveler to change a tire?
I have the Anderson leveler. I would expect that could be used on a 19 or 21? I need to buy another when I replace my Casita with the 21' in September.
Waiting again...

You only need one leveler to change the chore, you raise the good tire and then remove the bad tire which is up in the air. For leveling, you will need two. I used the B@L leveler from the single axle days and purchased another one and used two for my 19', but later moved on the the plastic levelers.

I used the Anderson leveler on this trip to Florida and back and it worked quite well. I expect it will work as well with dual axles. Much easier than stacking blocks. I'll get another before we pickup in Sept. I will be able to lose the jack I carry in the Casita for changing tires.

Jay, Hope I'm not stealing your thread by these questions.
Does Escape provide a lug wrench?
If not, what size are the lug nuts?
What is the recommended torque?
Answers same on both the 19 and 21?
TIA.
