As baglo pointed out, there is not likely a better suited facility for the rally at all, especially anywhere near Escape offices.
While they have not in the past held spots for folks, I have got the site I reserved 6 outta 7 years so far. While you hear some griping, it really is not all that bad. The staff there are great. They are friendly, and their are not as stupid strict like I have seen in other private campgrounds. They keep everything clean too.
Bottom line, great campground for the rally, excellent organization by Tammy and crew, and lots and lots of wonderful fellow Escape owners all looking to have some good fun.
It was fun the first year (2010) at Merritt too, though even there I had to buy the campground manager some flowers to get her in a better mood. It worked.

Opine, opine, please.
We're unlikely to attend this year after attending all other ETI rallies since the first. I've never gotten the site I asked for and I can't walk more than about a block without stopping. I have no desire to be in a site that's too far away to participate. We could arrive several days ahead of the rally, to get a good site, but Les wants to celebrate her birthday at home with her friends, not in Osoyoos.
As for business practices, Nk'Mip is pretty much fully booked all summer and have expanded several times, including a resort, casino and winery. I think they'll do just fine without us.

I never read anything at all in your comment that had to do with Tammy and Reace, Karen.

Nor I. My frustrations were strictly with the Nk'Mip office. The rest of the rally is a blast. The wine tours are not to be missed either.

I agree with Donna and Jim Bennett. This is a great venue for a get together that Tammy and Reace are not obligated to put on. They do this as a thanks to their customers. Yes, the business practice of Nk’Mip in terms of the reservation system is not the best, but I can deal with it for the short time we are there. The bingo game is fun, the hardware store is fabulous, and the wine tour is a lot of fun, along with seeing our Escape owner friends again, meeting new ones, and comparing mods....

We love going to the Rally and are willing to endure any little inconveniences for the joy of this experience! Our dog was a nervous wreck with the cannons going off hour after hour 2 years ago (we were right next the the vineyard and orchard). They did make a note of our dog's trauma and have promised to locate us away from that area again.
All in all, we are planning on a great event this year and can hardly wait to pull Rowdy II out of her winterized state and hit the road. Thanks to Tammy and Reace for putting this on each year!!!

We've made it to all of the rallies except the first one at Merritt. We've never gotten the site we asked for at registration. Until last year, it wasn't a big issue. When we arrived, we were put in a spot way down at the lake past most of the sites. It would have been quite a hike to the rec. centre and we were told that the bugs were horrible at the lakeside sites. So, we asked for a site in the loop next to the vineyard. The staff were not happy with the request and I think we made them mad because we got a site at the far end of the loop right in the middle of all of the full-timers and their land yachts. We weren't anywhere near any other Escape trailers. It was disappointing too because during the daily walkabouts, hardly anyone ventured down that far to visit. You couldn't even see our red balloon flapping forlornly in the breeze.
One would think that with a guaranteed registration of over 100 trailers for at least three days, the campground would bust their butts to make sure we are accommodated. We enjoy the camaraderie but the campground staff are making it difficult. We are mulling it over as to whether or not we will be attending this year. Jury's still out.
Doug

We will miss you all ......
We'll miss you all at the rally and this year. Hope to come again next year. We had our 50th anniversary in March and are heading overseas for a river cruise as part of our celebration ( March can be pretty wet over there - we wanted more sunshine ). A few pics of the best moments ( and wine !!) from last year. Although the days were hot and dry it did cloud over the last day we were there. We wish everyone a wonderful time with perfect sunny weather every day !!

We will miss you, too! Have a winderful 50th anniversary and a fabulous river cruise. I’ve enjoyed your company on the wine tours. Guess Jim Bennett will have to suffer without us. We’re skipping the wine tour this year, but looking forward to Osoyoos.

Unfortunately we must retract part of our first post . Just a few hours after our last post we got some not so good news .Not the part wishing everyone a really good time at the rally....the other part that had us going on a river cruise - a health issue has come up and we won't be going anywhere for a few months. ( thank goodness for cancellation insurance ) All will be well again by mid summer .
