True Grit
Grit is good if you’re a chicken or a pheasant but not so much if you don’t have a gizzard. Maybe head for the hardware store and get some goggles. Timing is not always their forte’ out there.

Grit used to be what ever hit me in the mouth at 75 mph on my Harley, many a bug was swallowed back then......

So, did the automatic awning perform as wanted in the wind and rain?

Ours did, I pressed the button on the control and it closed up nice and safe.
The wind last night was less but still strong enough to do some damage.
And the toad strangler definitely would have done ours in.

Yes my awning functioned too - meaning I closed it as soon as the wind picked up -just pressed the button -I'm not willing to wait to see if it auto retracts I bought it because I can easily retract it when ever I leave / go to bed/ when the weather gets iffy

The rally last year provided a wind test on our brand new awning. We went off on the winery tours, the winds were completely calm, clear blue skies and we forgot to retract the awning. Came home to it safely closed due to some big winds gusts.

Yes, mine too performed flawlessly recently while camping. A gust of wind came up and it closed. I had intended to check the batteries, but I guess they are still good, almost 2 years after installation...short of retraction, it is somewhat relieved to know it works.

Hi: thoer... Gust a quick note to warn all Wisconsinites to watch out for "Escape Hatch II" traveling east from Superior in early June. It will be travelling at a very... well... fully laden speed, towed by an over burdened 1/4 ton pickup. We'll try to get by as fast as we can to minimize any danger... but wave in passing!!! Alf

Does that mean Alf that you really plan on some "heavy" duty shopping with us in Grand Forks?
And for those WI residents, don't worry they'll only be touching the northern reaches of your state along Hwy 2.

Hi: emers 382... Fair warning that was my promise. Those folks with a need for speed can just pass us by.

I think you need to dip down much further into our gorgeous state and stop by for some homebrews!

Eastbound and down
Rolled the Windy City at Noon yesterday on I80 no construction. Can’t say about coming in from du nord. Saw a nice looking Trillium west of Joliet about 11 AM. Three old airstreams, an Argosy and 16 Highway patrol in 400 miles. I roadkill otter. Who’s this little guy?

I see fishing tackle and a sleeping bag in his future. First for sure camping trip will be the Wine Escape. Might have to try a shakedown earlier. Your hair is red,
Your eyes are blue
I’d swap my old Winnebago for you.
