The fire on Highway 3 west of Osoyoos is fully contained and under control. We had 2 days of rain and they are mopping up the fire now so it is not a problem. Air quality is also very good. We drove very close to there a couple of days ago and live within 30 minutes drive. See you at the rally with our brand new Escape 21!

looking for spots on Friday wine tour
If anyone is unable to make their Friday wine tour date can you let us know. We have 2 spots on Saturday and would like to switch to Friday due to change in work schedule. Last minute I know but thought I'd ask just in case someone else can go on Saturday.

Hi folks! Great to hear. We are in site C33. Stop by and say hi. It is also where the “swap meet” will take place Saturday morning at 10am.

My door prize (orange ticket) resulted in a $50cdn gift card for Moxies Bar & Grill that I am very unlikely to be able to use. First cash offer -in person- over $30usd or $40cdn (I prefer US) gets it.
Site 190, way at the N end or catch me riding around on my black Pedego bike (mag wheels).

Birds
Having a great time at the rally . We are near the clubhouse and I’ve been watching a pair of birds snatch small insects out of the air and off of the grass tips for two days. Flycatchers, I thought. This morning Len (Old Fulica) came by on his way to the wine tour. He heard the bird call from an elm tree. He looked for the bird momentarily and we soon spotted him going after another insect. I offered up “flycatcher” . Len said “He’s a Say’s Phoebe.” His bird knowledge being several orders of magnitude beyond mine I was very thankful for his identification. About that time an Osprey flew overhead. Camping and rallies are so much more than meals, vehicle comparisons and travel tips. For me they are about friends and birds.
Thank you Len.

Birds
And aren’t the California quail scratching around cool? They look like cartoon birds scattered across the campground. We saw red-necked grebes on the other side of the lake near Haynes Point.

After the Sunday morning escape of Escapes I rode my bike around the campground at about 2:00 and counted right at 60 Escapes remaining. The interesting thing is that it appears that most of the 5.0s are still here - at least enough that they are quite noticable with all the empty sites - I'm guessing pretty close to half of the remaining rigs.

Agreed 100%! We were sad about leaving today and drove to Bear Creek PP feeling withdrawal symptoms. Then arrived here to find 2 21s camped across from us and a 15 down the road. Come join us at our mini rally!!

2019 is our first rally
Thanks to all the fine Escape owners we met at our first rally. We were at Site 186.
We enjoyed the events, and thanks to the volunteers who made this wonderful weekend possible. We departed at 0800 on Sunday, slowly making our way back to central Texas. Safe travels to all.

Gus and Mary,
Hope to get together with you in Texas. Don’t forget to sign up for the Bluebonnet Rally in Bandera, TX. It takes place in April, 2020.

Alright, Jim, now you got me curious about what you ran into driving back to York. Flood across the road? Tornadoes in Ohio? Flat tires, or flapping awnings?
On my way up I passed one little interstate accident, but this was a mere one hour crawl for me. On the return trip home, nothing. I did make a few stops, Glacier NP, Yellowstone NP, etc., but that's another story.
