I'd want to know that the water jug I got for cheap was made of food grade material.

Not my concern - would be strictly for washing and flushing.

I bought several of these for $15. They fit under the bed.

If durability is high on your list these military spec water cans which are BPA free are phenomenal.

I didn't see any water jugs at the Big Tent, although I have to admit I wasn't looking for them. I did buy a 5 gallon folding water bucket for $15.00.

The Big Tent comes down on the 28th, so you would have to stop on the 27th to get anything...

I have four of the 5 gallon Scepter cans and love them. Very durable. I am now at Quartzite and find taking them into town for refills is easier than driving the trailer over. At the Quartzite RV show there is a seller with a neat hose that makes refilling a breeze.

A hose that goes on the Scepter to allow filling the trailer fresh tank? Like this?

It is this one: www.safetysiphon.net. I got the 3/4 inch six footer. Drains a five gallon can in one minute.

UPDATED INFORMATION for the Quartzsite Swap Meet

Dome Rock Swap Meet
at the Quartzsite Gathering
Saturday, Feb 9, 2019
8am - 10am
Hosted by Arizona Eileen

This is your opportunity to recycle those camping items you no longer use! There've been some terrific items in past years!

The location of the Swap Meet will be somewhere down in front near the Registration. Blue tarps will be laid out on the ground ahead of the event.

SELLERS
Items must be camping-related...basically anything having to do with RVing.
This can also include books, CDs, electronics, etc. -- stuff you'd use when traveling. No clothing items, please.

— Sellers may arrive at 7:45 am to set out their items; however, no sales before 8 am, please.
— Purchase a box of small envelopes at the Dollar Store (I'll also have some on hand).
— On the front of the envelope, write: 1) Your name, 2) the item name, 3) the price, 4) your cell phone number
— Affix the envelope to the item you wish to sell and leave your item(s) on one of the tables at the Swap Meet.
— Be willing to accept either cash or check.
— There will be a table for FREE STUFF. No envelopes necessary.
— If you have a table or ground cover we can use for a few hours to display items, please bring it along.
— No need to stick around if you don't want to since someone will be there keeping an eye on things.

— At 10 am, Sellers should plan to claim their payment(s) and/or remaining item(s).

BUYERS
— Buyers will remove the envelope from the item they wish to purchase, place their payment inside, and then deposit it into the PAYMENTS box.

— Acceptable payments are cash or check. (I MAY be able to make change, but no guarantees.)
— Buyers may write their name and cell number on the envelope before depositing it into the box if they have questions for the Seller.

MISCELLANEOUS
No outside vendors are permitted without permission from Greg A., the rally host.

A-Z Casita Owners Guide available at special prices. Your choice of Printed book, or PDF on USB or CD.
Decals: Jack Frame Under Here, Battery Charge 16 and 25 Fresh Water Tank Gauges

re drinking water when camping, as we have 2 of these we use at home since our tap water tastes terrible here... I always bring one camping... I have a 'dolphin' pump that fits on the neck for camping.. we'll typically bring it already filled from our local water store, and maybe every 4-5 days will need to refill it from a reasonable source (I always taste the water first, if the local water is awful, then I'll find a 'water store' that properly filters). the trailer water is used strictly for wash, shower, flush...

The map location shows the site fairly close to the I-10 freeway. Do you get noise from it? Speaking for myself, that would be a turn off, if so.

Boy, ask an easy question. What's noise to one person might be a far off barely audible sound to others. All I can say, based on our own subjective experience, is that noise from the highway is a non-issue.

My tolerance for noise is on a sliding scale. If it's a far off temporary sound, that's life, other people share the planet. If it's yahoo's in the middle of the night, I'm not so kindly.

Noise isn’t very noticeable, kinda background noise in the distance. If you stay a week or two weeks when you leave there isn’t a check out time and you’ll be charged... nothing for a week of fun with friends old and new. Pretty awesome.

Hi there -- 1st post on the forum; hope I'm asking in the right place...

We have tentatively decided to get a 17B, but haven't seen one yet. We live in Virginia, but are going to Big Bend Natl Park - Terlingua area in February.

I'm assuming these rallies also serve as an opportunity for potential buyers to see the model they want to buy, and take a quick tour, and ask questions etc? And that most or all of you enjoy showing them off?

If so, can anyone confirm they will be at Quartzsite on Saturday Feb-9 with a 17B we could look at? Even better would be a 17B with the toilet-cassette mod -- but any 'current' 17B would do the trick.

We'd leave VA on 2/6, and arrive at Quartzsite on 2/8, probably after dark -- is it easy to grab a parking spot, find a flat spot, and put up our tent? Then 2/9 we'd hang out and look at 17B's, then the next morning we'd double back to Big Bend.

Let me know if I'm 'on the right track' here...

Thanks,

John & Tess

You'll be coming to exactly the right place. Last year we had about two hundred eggs, all sizes and brands.

You're arriving at night? A cautionary note about arriving at the Quartzsite rally at night: I did that last year - had to rely on my flashlight to safely find a way to enter the grounds off the main road where everyone parks. It's a very big area and trailers are widely scattered but you'll know the rally spot because of the concentrated group of us. You'll see the many white trailers already there, but must be very careful at night not to turn and find yourself in a gully. (I speak from experience.) There are no signs, no obvious directional indicators - and it gets really DARK out there. Otherwise, no problem.

Just FYI, there is currently no overnight camping in Big Bend NP due to the shutdown. I was heading that way myself but may need to divert unless I can find a spot outside but nearby the park. Safe travels!
