It is indeed heartening to read of the enthusiasm for reserving sites. Talked to our leader Paul Braun last night and assured him that we planned on attending and giving him any help we can. Have a great rest of the week.

New to the Mississippi Rendezvous
My wife and I have made reservations at Thomson’s Causeway for the weekend. This will be our first Escape rendezvous. Any suggestions on how we should prepare? Anything we should plan to bring?
Thanks for your comments.

A big smile and a harty handshake along with a few beers or other drink of you choice. There hasn't been a potluck the last couple of years but there is a desert gathering, where the beverages are. There are usually a few campfires going so come on down and enjoy yourself.

The mosquitoes aren’t usually too bad depending upon rains ahead of the rally. We always have mosquito spray and tick repellant no matter where we camp. If you need an iowa roadmap or iowa bike trail map I always have a few out on our table. It can rain in September so an umbrella or rain jacket is never a bad idea.
If you like to look at Herons, Egrets and geese you can bring binoculars. There are two good grocery stores across the river in Clinton and one up at Savanna. I was only ever in there once and only bought a couple sweet rolls. There’s propane on the far west end of Clinton too. There are several water hydrants in the campground loops and at the dump station when you first come in. Do not speed and the limit Is pretty slow. It’s posted. Looking forward to meeting you. I believe you’re the first Vermonters who have attended this premier event. The friendliest guy who never stops talking is

It is heartening to see all those reservations. We have a bit of a curve ball hit the campground with the electrical upgrades. It is good to hear that all upgrades will be done before the rally, but be aware that some sites might be delayed in opening on the reservation system.
More information, such as activities, schedules etc. . . will be coming out as we get closer to the rally date.
