We're you the only person in the truck when you went to the scales? Did you have anything "extra" in the truck? And I take it you really had nothing in the trailer- looks like a 750lb pin weight?

Correct me if I'm wrong.
Your truck axles W/O the trailer add up to 5776 lbs; the truck axles with the trailer add up to 6504 lbs for a pin weight of 728 lbs. Your trailer axles are 3329 lbs so this would mean that the trailer weighs 4057 dry ...... this sounds like a lot.
My 5.0 "Classic" loaded for a two week trip has a pin weight of 650 lbs and an axle weight of 2900 lbs for a total weight of 3550 lbs. If your weights are true then the 8" wider, 5" higher and the extra axle have added up to a lot heavier trailer.

Our 2008 5.0 with empty water tanks, mostly full propane and maybe 60-70 pounds of gear in the trailer had a pin weight of 720 pounds. Axle weight 2620.

Yes, but keep in mind - the extra axle (of different design but probably comparable weight to Torflex #10 series) is all extra weight (perhaps 130 lb)
- similarly, there are two more wheels and two more tires (maybe 100 lb)
- much of the frame is 2"x4" instead of 1.5"x3" (perhaps the same wall thickness?)
Longer and wider and taller all multiply together for a substantial weight increase. This isn't unique to Escape - trailers don't scale up in weight just in proportion to their length or width.

On ETI's home page, 5.0 shows 2620 lbs dry weight, 9' high, and 19'6" long. Real numbers from Tammy this week show a height of 9' 7" and length of 21' 2". Appears the real weight is also substantially more. Looks like it's a bit bigger than my barn can comfortably handle. I'm just going to love my 19 and make someone happy by freeing up one more 5.0 TA date in 2014.

I'm guessing those are the specs for the 5.0, not the 5.0 TA.
Suggest you alert Tammy that they show under 5.0 TA.

Thanks Seef,
You're going to have all of Europe chasing you... I am really "dated" because my many European experiences go back to the eighties & nineties on both business and pleasure. But I do remember that back then, TT's we pulled by VW "Beetles"... the VW rv van was considered "Huge".
I sure would like to see a picture(s) of your combo and parked in various CG's.
ENJOY & TRAVEL SAFE

So I would take that to be ETI's advertised dry weight; that sounds more realistic than the 4057 lbs that Larry is getting; though his weight would be including propane tanks, batteries and options that normally are not included in dry weight.
Reace mentioned that he weighed the first 5.0 off the line at around 3700 lbs fully optioned out making the pre-camping weight anywhere from 3350 to 3700 lbs.

Thanks rscovell,
ETI's hitch installed at TradeMasters in Chilliwack. When I picked up the hitch, Reace did some final measurements and marked the box floor for TraeMasters to follow.
Worked well... Hope this helps.
