Another Newbie Here
Hello All,
I just joined this forum as I'm very interested in the concept of the fiberglass trailer. I had an '06 stick-built trailer, but it suffered from several quality issues so I'm ready for something that's been put together better and hopefully is less maintenance intensive. I look forward to learning more about the Escape trailers in this group.

Welcome to the forum. A good place to start is Jeff's video comparison of three fgrvs: http://zimodecast.com/?p=82. Hopefully, I've given you the correct link.

Re: Another Newbie Here
Hi: turtlejj...And WELCOME!!! You'll find us a little biased toward fiberglass and specially Escapes. We started out three years ago with a '77 Boler. Great little trailer!!! Not too many "Stickies" of that vintage on the road still. We moved on up to the 5.0 Escape and will likely keep it till our traveling days are done. In both cases the weight factor is vital to cost effective towing/travel.

Re: Another Newbie Here
Thanks for the feedback. I‘d been thinking the Casita was a good choice but from what I’ve learned; the construction techniques of the Escape sound even better. I like the idea of the top and bottom sections being permanently joined (not sure if the Casita is this way) and that there are fewer fasteners through the walls. Haven’t yet seen either one in person though, so I’ll have to work on that.

Hi Turtlejj and welcome to the form, I have been to the Escape factory three times now and
I know you would be hard pressed to find a better built trailer.

You may also wish to find out if there is an Escape near you. Call Tammy. And the way things seem to be going there may be one near you or on its way.

Re: Another Newbie Here
Hi everyone, Another newbie here. We are new to trailering but not new to camping. (all though it has been years since we went camping in a pop up). Recently retired and have cabin fever to get traveling. We are trying to figure out if we want the 5.0 or the new 19. We have a v6 4x4 toyota tacoma so we can pull either. We read the forums every day and are getting ideas for our trailer. We have a 6 yr old golden and we live in the blue ridge mountains of N Georgia. We love nature and are in to photography.
We look forward to Escaping SOON!

Re: Another Newbie Here
Pioneer, welcome aboard.
I really like the way the bed sets up in the 5.0, and if I had a pickup like yours I would have been all over it. The only advantage the 19 might have is the I think the height and width are a bit bigger now. Maybe you need a weekend getaway, and could fly to out Escapes way to check them both out, and take in some of the sights around Vancouver.

Hi and welcome, nice choice in trucks by the way.
We have a Tacoma and will soon have the 19' Escape
If you go this route be sure to get the high lift axle
as the height will be perfect for the truck.

Hi: Pioneer...And welcome. We are enjoying our 2nd. season with "Our Escape Hatch"... 5.0. The biggest deciding factor was the permenent fore/aft queen size bed in the loft. The big fridge helps too. As my wife said when she saw it..."Its got a real fridge"!!! If you would like some pic's send me a personal message thru the Forum with your email addy and I would be glad to send some.

Re: Another Newbie Here
We had a Casita '05, and just loved it!!! But, our Escape 5.0 is soooo much better built, so many nice extras not found on Casita, and the extra space is GREAT! If you have a Tacoma, there should be no question. If you didn't have a truck, the 19' is beautiful, that's what we'd get. As Escape Artist said, the front to back Queen is great, you don't have to crawl out over your spouse (although, I never found that to be ALL bad!).
