Don't Own One Yet!

Hi! I am a newby here, referred by Linda K. researching 17' trailers. Would love a new one, not sure I can afford one. May settle for a used one if I can find one! Appreciate advice/recommendations on "must have" options, A/C, bike rack I know, but what about upgraded batteries, inverters, hitches, high-lift axles?? Thanks!

For you, the journey is just beginning! If you have patience, you will find tons of great information on this site. I would recommend that you begin by identifying the type of camper/traveler you are. Do you like to rough it, or are you looking for pure luxury? Once you have a good idea, use the search function and read the posts and threads. And have fun as you meet all of the campers who frequent this site.

Let me know if you want to see my 19. I'm close by in NOVA and always happy to show her.

Yes! Yes! Yes! We would like to see her! Yea! When would be a good time to take a look? We are busy this weekend, and furloughed for who knows how long, but Monday is a Federal holiday, so either way we are free then! The price and options between the 17' and 19' are making me rethink that maybe a 19' would be better, if my FJ Cruiser could pull it - which if we don't overpack, it should be able to. Thanks so much!

I think your FJ should do fine towing the 19'. Your towing capacity is about 5000 lb, which is good for the 19. I have been towing my 19 with an FJ since April with no issues.
