Finally ordered our Escape
Paul and I made the leap today - put down a deposit on a 21 footer. First RV for us ever - I think we are the first people in Spokane with an Escape! Very excited after three years of planning and dreaming and lurking on this site. Looking forward to next spring and summer!

Good for you, Jan! You will have one of the first 21's. Now is the fun part of figuring out all of those options!

Congratulations to you guys, Jan.
Check out the owners map, and add yourself to it. Be the first marker on Spokane.

Thanks Jim! This group is so friendly and welcoming - probably influenced our decision! Where do I find the owner's map?

Jan, it is in the top bar on every page. Then click on the link at the bottom to go to the map. There are instructions on the left as to how to place your marker. Further info in this link.

Welcome to the "BlackJack" or 21' club as I call it, I'm now #12 on the list, originally #5 but more and more people are buying earlier than me. I'm scheduled for Dec 2 hatching, when will yours be hatched. I was thinking of starting a "21" thread to compare ideas and options?

Sounds great! We are due to hatch on Jan 28! Now we have to start thinking about the options we want!

You guys that have ordered the 21' do you have any concerns about the size of the bed. I have tentatively ordered one but have concerns about my wife and I being able to sleep together on it. I wonder how hard it will be to make the bed in the eating area. Your thoughts appreciated.

I can tell you one thing, the table is certainly going to be easier to set up and down than the one in the 19' Escape. I had one of those 21' style table in another trailer, you lift the table off 2 tabs built into the wall and it then swings down and done. With the table in the 19' you had to lift and then hold while someone took the legs off, no more aching back.

It is just six inches narrower than our queen bed at home so I am not worried - we liked the fact that one of us doesn't have to crawl over the other to make those nighttime jaunts to the WC.

12 volt heat pads and insulation
Jim - I noticed you have the insulation as an option - not an add on we had considered as we don't plan to winter camp. We live at 2500 feet and now I am wondering how useful this would be if we do late and early season camping - especially mountain travel. I haven't found a discussion thread about this option. Any thoughts or comments appreciated!

The insulation is the foam spray, underneath that encapsulates the entire floor from front to rear, with spray foam. The 12v heat pads is an add on to keep the tanks from freezing. I'm just getting the spray as I feel it is adequate enough to keep the trailer and tanks warm enough. This option in addition to the extra insulation with thermal windows that will make the entire trailer warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer ( only used the a/c once or twice last year) but camped down to single digits. In addition to temperature, these options also keep your trailer quiet from out side noise when closed up.

Do the @12 volt heaters work while driving? Would you have to be hooked up to shore power? We are newbies so excuse what may seem to be idiotic questions
