Arrow For the Solar Modifiers (Redarc "Manager30")

So, I ran across this offering from our friends in Australia at Redarc (they have a US distributor):

"The REDARC Manager30 is a 30A state-of-the-art battery management system designed to charge and maintain auxiliary batteries by incorporating AC, DC and solar inputs, ideal for recreational vehicles, caravans, and camper trailers with multiple battery banks."

Apparently incorporating the functions of
  • AC-to-battery and solar-to-battery Charger (user configurable for LiFePO4)
  • DC-to-DC (vehicle-to-trailer) charging (user configurable)
  • MPPT Solar Controller (up to 520W @ 12V nominal)
  • Shunt (though they don't use that term) rated up to 300A
  • A wired-remote system configuration, status, and performance-history display panel with various programmable system status alarms
  • Support for an accessory load-shedding relay (user configurable behavior)
It does not appear to incorporate / include
  • DC-to-AC Inverter functions
  • Bluetooth remote monitoring or control support
  • Solar panels or batteries
Upon cursory review of the manufacturer's literature / manual it might be an attractive component for those starting from scratch (starting from a base lead-acid / no solar system) and who's needs can be met with ~100 to 300Ah of LiFePO4 storage. The MSRP delivered to US customers from Redarc's distributor is $1230 USD.

Not at all posting to recommend or anything like that, I'll be continuing a more in-depth review of the literature to assess pros and cons for my interests.

I do post to invite the many 'lithium and solar experts' here to join in my study of the literature and opine on the device, it's pros/cons, and shortcomings/benefits.

FWIW / IME /IMO the Australian firm Redarc is far from a newbie and seems to enjoy a good reputation. They've been making inroads in the US market for several years now, having established a US headquarters. I've been very satisfied with their brake controller DIY installed in my Honda Ridgeline.

Let the well-considered comments rip .....

Edit - I had to attach the 40-page Manual as two files due to forum filesize limitations

Redarc makes some interesting products, and they have come up in some previous discussions:

not sure 30A is enough for our trailers... thats only 360 watts of DC, that won't recharge deeply discharged batteries and run a full house load at the same time.
