Big Bend National Park, TX
We have been here since Sunday enjoying the weather and doing some great day hiking. Days have been in the 50-60s with some cold nights, down to about 23 once. Going to try to attach some "pano" photos-hopefully it works. The Escape has been great!

Great photos by sjnuss! Looked up the location of this NP and didn't realize it was right on the border with Mexico. Any concerns about the safety of camping there?

BBNP is really quite safe. Rio Grande Village is the the main camping area for RVs with FHUs (although primitive sites exist throughout the park). Most of the border issues are happening elsewhere in the state-actually mostly on the Mexican side of the border. But, like anywhere, you need to be aware of your surroundings and if you go in the backcountry perhaps let someone know where you will be and when you plan to return. We did numerous day hikes and saw a few people on the trails and that's about all. Oh and we did see what we think to be mountain lion tracks and yes they have been known to create issues for hikers! We would go again without hesitation.
