First trip of the year

I had a trip planned to fort flagger scheduled this week but a horse kicked me while hunting last weekend- broken foot! Very irritating!

Sorry about your cancelled trip and broken foot. You're lucky the horse wasn't wearing your pajamas...........

Our first trip of the year resulted in a broken foot as well, nearly at least but not me. We brought the trailer to our son's in Thunder Bay to sleep in it, the first morning here he fell 10 feet off a ladder onto a cement floor and badly sprained his ankle and dislocated his shoulder but otherwise is in Ok shape, he was lucky.

This must be the year for injuries. About 2 weeks before our first scheduled trip, I hurt my back bad enough to end up in the ER. So our next first trip is a little over 2 weeks from today. Here is hoping for no more bad luck all around.

No injuries for me. But, snowy weather on the Wet Coast has now turned to rain with intermittent glimpses of the sun. Last year by this time we had already been out.

Our first trip of the year will be out to Escape on Sat morning..

I started cleaning in the inside last week and asked Doug to turn on the water---some kind of a leak in the bathroom....I presume something froze in the toilet even though he winterized everything the same as the past 7 years...

I also noticed a bit of wet under the stove/furnace---the insulation feels a bit damp near the bottom...I am thinking maybe thru the furnace vent on the outside We did have an awful lot of snow but we didn't pile snow on that side of the trailer...

I have removed all the old gold decals and we are getting new black ones installed...Even bought a new black propane tank cover yesterday at Meridians big sale.... I didn't feel like painting the other one and it was looking awful grungy...

We are buying a cover in the fall, to protect the new decals and make it easier to scrub---what an awful mess it was this year..

First "real" trip is the May long weekend leading into the rally..

Black propane covers may cause your tanks to be hotter than normal, do you want that to happen?

I have talked to a couple guys with them and they didn't find a difference. a lot of the newer trailers have black... I was concerned about that.

I don't remember the numbers from my course, but normal use conditions are within the safety margin on a full tank. 130f in Death Valley sunshine might be one toe over the line...
