Needs to be a crazy kid stuff museum where all this stuff could be displayed. There's already been books written but the stories are more fun to share when you are around people who lived growing up in your golden era. You find out there are several parallel universes, we all had the same dad, we all ate the same Sunday dinners, and finally, we have so much to be thankful for. Maybe camping with a modern camper is the logical extension 50 or 60 years later. I hate to admit it but I can't freehand climb those trees anymore, too scary.

At boarding school, we acquired surgical tubing ( from the nurse's office? ). Tie a knot in one end and insert a pen barrel in the other. Fill with water under pressure and then fire it through the transom at some nerd studying in his room.

At Iowa State you could practice musical instruments in the dorm room for a half an hour after evening meal. My roomie was a band geek and practiced his trumpet facing the door. I went to the lounge. Guys would take a large Manila envelope and fill it with shaving cream. Put the open end slightly under the door and when he'd go for the high note, they would jump with both feet on the envelope. Lots of physics in action and quite a bit of cleanup too.
Then there was the famous three man lift. Another time.

Hard to beat the original, tried and true Wrist Rocket. Probably outlawed in many states (and for good reason)

When we stop to think of all of the dumb things a lot of us did as kids and teens, we were lucky to have survived or at least not get seriously maimed. I'd forgotten about a lot of this. As teens, we would go down to Missouri and buy M80s by the gross. And did we blow up a lot of stuff with those, plus made cannons and mortars out of pipes and post drivers. Loren

Tried to blow up a Ford Prefect when I was about eleven. Two pals and I gathered all the oil and gas we could find and poured it in the tank. I was nominated to stuff the flaming stick down the fuel filler and to run like hell.
The stick left the tank in an instant, singeing my neck, and disappeared in the clouds.
The car survived, and so did I.
One of those pals died in a head on collision on a flat, straight, Saskatchewan highway. The other found himself in jail after attacking a karate instructor with a pipe in an attempted robbery at a high end Vancouver hotel washroom.

Gee whiz, Glenn, with friends like that, where did you go wrong?
When I was a kid I worked at a drive-in called "King Leo's". There was an implement called a potato fork that was used to make French fries. Imagine a trident with tines about 6 inches long that could easily spear a whole potato. We had to take Wayne Christensen to the emergency room after the potato fork got stuck in his foot while playing chicken. The ER nurse didn't buy our story that he just dropped it. But we stuck together and no one could prove different. Wayne had so many motorcycle and automobile accidents that the ambulance driver knew him by first name. He became a Dr in Iowa when he grew up.

I would love to tell you all bad ass stories about myself growing up, but there just weren't any.
And should you ever run into my mother, don't believe a word that spiteful woman has to say.

Have a pocket shot in my bug out bag Jim. Takes awhile to be accurate with it. My wrist rocket is better imho, but the pocket shot of course takes very little space.

What else can I do .... but challenge Jim, Ron, Robert, Glen and anyone else to a sling shot shoot out. I'm putting up a six pack of Alaska's finest craft beer as a prize. Entry fee is a 6 pack of your local craft beer. Winner takes all but must share. Of course there should be a Ladies Division. Further rules will be made up 10 minutes before shoot out.
Place: OK Corral in Osoyoos Campground.... Time: Just after the wine tour returns
Better practice up lads and ladies as I'm a dead eye and I'm going to be drinking your beer! Yarrrrrrrr

Can I bring my pellet gun?
Never hit anything with it either.
Oh, and I have a Masai spear.

Tom,
Have you determined the shooting distance? That's all I really need, I don't care about the format or rules. Well I guess that's not entirely true, I also need to know whether or not I need an opener for the beer I'm going to win. It's on like Donkey Kong.

Well, this just went from a friendly banter thread, to all out war.
Let's git it on.
Off course I want to use my Wrist Rocket, haven't even tried this new fangled one yet.

My brother and me used to have wars. I gave him the slingshot, and I got the BB gun. No shooting at the face allowed.
The slingshot could actually do way more damage. The BB gun could not break skin, but boy did it leave a good welt.

We held gladiator wars in the alley behind the house. Ammo was big American Black Walnuts at twenty paces. Protection was a garbage can lid. You could protect your head, neck and chest at the expense of no protection to important features of the lower body. I'm disfigured but have three great kids.

This sounds good to me. The more time Dave spends practicing for these gladiator wars in Ossoyos, the less time he will have to practice with his torque wrench!
Keep coming up with more and more contests for him to practice at!

Right on! Gladiator wars in Osoyoos, with Dave as the target.
For sport, he could just use the lid to a compost bucket, rather than one from a garbage can.

He says he is disfigured from the old days anyway, so maybe the new damage will be unnoticeable!

Plus, he does already have 3 great kids, so no worries there either!

Could you maybe aim for his torque wrench arm?
