Ours is a small bar that the light swivels--6 small LEDs
I think we used a couple screws to attach it.
We also have the newer brighter LED lights from ETI at that end too. Really made a difference.
We ate in Quesnel and I am on my phone so can't really send a picture.

Currently my LED light strip is just sitting on the shelf but I taped under the shelf to give you an idea of what the lighting would be like.... but the picture does not do it justice. The direct warm white light LED's onto the table are quite bright and can be dimmed. When I replace the incandescent bulbs in the standard light fixtures with warm white LED, it should be brighter yet.

Get it done and well it tis far better to beg for forgiveness then ask for permission. Or if all else fails play dumb...It was always supposed to be there honey ETI sent it and said they had forgotten to install it..

We have a third light, same kind as the other two, at middle of the shelf over the dinette, also hard-wired. Never had a problem.

That big double ceiling light in photo is like one we have but not in the ceiling. Ours is at the top of the wall between refrigerator and wardrobe. It lights up wardrobe, refrigerator and the inside of overhead cabinets across from it, plus the kitchen area.

Jim, isn't the headliner uniformly glued to the ceiling? If so, how were you able to push your fish tape between the foam backing and fiberglass ceiling? Clearly, it was a successful surgery, but I expect it was quite a delicate procedure. - Rich

Yes, it is glued & if you have the extra insulation, there is a layer of reflex. I used a stiff piece of brass MIG welding wire to create a path. It does take some creative fishing. I added an overhead dual LED fixture to my 17, fed from the Maxx Fan and through the AC. I believe a ceiling fixture is now standard, at least on some models.

It has become my most used fixture.

We added 2 captains lights in the front of our 19' for reading, which with the 3 LED lights Escape provided on the undersides of the overhead cabinets and front shelf in the dinette area, makes for more than adequate lighting for our needs. In fact, I cannot remember a time when more than 2 of the 5 lights have been used at any one time. As for location of lights, one on the ceiling above the dinette table would have been a good location. If I was to do it over again, I would consider eliminating the 3 lights from the undersides of the overhead bins in favor of one double light on the ceiling above the table. I would definitely keep the 2 Captain style spot lights on the front inside corners of the trailer.

I made a Hail Mary comment about yours and Rick's installation to my wife when she came in the trailer to see my finished raised dinette seats. Well, if the light matches the others she said. I almost fell over. I think all my mods have worn her resistance down Another job for my to-do list.

I'm still going to make a lower light on an arm for some ambient lighting.

I was considering whether to have a DC outlet installed by our table so I could use a goose necked DC light clamped to our table for fly tying OR see if ETI's Captain's reading lights would be adequate. So, this week we visited the ETI factory with a fishing fly in hand to see if the Captain's reading lights were enough. After sitting at a dinette with one 1W LED Captain's reading light focused on it, it was almost enough light for me, but not quite. So, we decided to have two of them installed on one side of our 21' Escape's table (not the U-shaped dinette) to give adequate light for tying. (One light shining over either shoulder) The benefit is I don't have to hall along and then set up another thing-a-ma-bob. Maybe this post will benefit another fly tier with their build sheet.

Good thinking. This business of taking an hour or two to set up camp with all the accoutrements that some find necessary would get old to me fast. But to each his own.

Pull in, unhitch, open the door, take a nap. That's my style.

I do not tie flies but do need additional light for my tired eyes. I had 4 additional 12v outlets installed around my "U" dinette for those eye enhancing clip on LED lights combined with the over head and or captain lights seems to make reading fine print easier. In addition these 12v outlets can be used for other accessories such as USB charging.
