Jack - how is the Casper working out in the 21? Did you find you needed to trim it or was the overhang small enough not to matter?

We just got the Casper we ordered to replace our 20+ year old Tempurpedic at home and we both love it. Since they deliver free in Canada, when we get close to our production date next year we're going to delete the stock mattress and have the Casper shipped direct to ETI. Thanks for the idea Azjack.

Also, if you order stuff from etrailer.com you should ask if the product is available from their Canadian warehouse, and get it shipped from there to a Canadian address.

So, we got about 3 inches of snow last night, and temps were in the teens with wind chill in single digits first thing this morning. Did I mention we live in central Alabama? Anyway, I had need to get something out of an overhead cabinet in our Escape 21' and happened to lean on the bed with a 2" thick memory foam topper. Hard as a rock!! I would have sworn we had a plywood topper on the bed! Never would have thought of that. Thankfully, we keep the inside of our camper a bit warmer than that while camping so the topper is nice and soft.

Yep, they do get hard when they are cold. The latex toppers apparently don't do that.

True, we have both. Went from a memory foam topper to a latex, and now back to memory foam. We find latex, at least the one we have, is quite a bit harder then warmed up memory foam, making it too hard for us.
Going to try preheating the memory foam with an electric blanket this winter.

Well, there is soft and soft, depending upon the person. Our latex is soft --- to me. Just love it.
Also, there are different kinds and they cost differently.

Instead of an electric blanket, we decided to try a mattress warmer on our bed at home this winter to see how we liked it and if we'd want to go that direction in our camper which has the same mattress topper ( https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sunbeam-Q...&wl13=&veh=sem ). We love it! Should do even a better job of keeping the topper soft in cold weather compared to an electric blanket.

Electric blanket vs mattress pad, like latex vs memory foam, another personal choice thing. We've own all of them, and yes the Latex topper is Talalay, one uses what works best for the individual.
I find choosing bedding difficult at best.

Latex foam toppers can vary in softness depending on how many voids are in them. I too am a big fan.

Having grown up in the Colorado mountains, sometimes with only a centrally located wood/coal burning stove to heat the entire house in winter, I learned at a young age to appreciated a bed that is already warm before I crawl in.

We all sleep different. I too could not handle a pre-warmed bed. It takes but moments of shooting about, or better yet snuggling, to warm the bed up nice.
Memory foam does not breathe enough for me and I end up sweating, which is the primary reason I prefer latex. Memory foam takes too long to warm up and soften for me too.
Fortunately Lisa is like me in that she prefers the air to be nice and cool and the blankets warm and cozy. Having my very of regulates my body temperature.
I have slept very soundly in a down sleeping bag inside a snow cave many a time.

Me too. My great grandmother used to take coals from the fireplace and put them in an old fashioned bed warmer.

You're lucky that you knew your great grandmother. Some people did not even know their grandparents.

You said it. She passed when I was 10, but those are some fond memories. She refused to have a modern washer in her house until the day she died, washing her clothes instead in one of those motorized tubs with the wringer on top.
