Our new "carriage house"

In case anyone is interested, this is how a 2017 21' fits under a steel frame car port that is 18' wide x 26' long with 9' legs. Gives us enough room to pull our little fishing boat in beside it, if we want. Photos were taken about 3 o'clock in the afternoon. We plan to run a little shade cloth along the West side to continue shading the driver's side of the trailer later into the afternoon.

Anything you can do to keep the sun off of your trailer when not in use is going to keep it new looking for a long time. Mine sits deep down in a limestone cave 10 months out of the year and comes out looking and smelling like new. Loren

That is going to make your trailer last forever.

Very nice, thinking of this for our cabin. How did you anchor the base?

The installers initially pounded 30" long rebar anchors down through pre-drilled holes in the base rails, 4 to a side, to keep everything square and upright while assembling. Then to finish, they drilled auger-style eye anchors (like they use to anchor mobile homes down; see link below), one leg in from each corner.
1/2" x 30", Eye Ground Anchor
If you look close at photo #2 (the side view), you can see where I followed up and cross-braced each side with steel cables and turnbuckles attached to the eye anchor bolts.

Really convenient, a pull thru garage. Every time I back mine into my spot at home I wish I had a pull thru. Well at least it keeps my rear view mirror skills working.....

We live on 40 acres and are indeed fortunate to have enough open space immediately around our home to accommodate a drive-through carport.

Hi: War Eagle... You'd have enough room for a "Drive in" Theater too!!! Alf
