RV driving instruction near Sumas?

Hello All,

I'll be picking up my 5.0 around Nov 1 in Sumas. Since this is all new to me, I'd like to get some instruction while hanging around the area figuring out all of the systems & such. The closest I've found is well south of Seattle (at rvschool.com). Was hoping for something closer to Sumas.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

There is a driving instruction place very close to ETI in Chilliwack. Ask them about it. We received RV driving instructions from them with a great instructor named Howard.

The lifting of the previous Covid rules makes it easy to take delivery in Sumas and cross right back into Canada if you check out the place near ETI and that's what you want to do.

Many folks have picked up in Sumas and then gone down to Bay View State Park to acquaint themselves with the new trailer before they've gone too far.

It's an easy drive. A lot of folks have quite a bit of apprehension about towing but by the time they drive for a bit they find out that a lot of the worry was unnecessary. So, if you're up for it try that little drive first. If you check out trailer towing instruction near the Seattle you could still do it. Towing a relatively small amount on pickup day is probably a good idea as your head will already swimming with details.

Thank you both for these suggestions. I'll get with the ETI folks for the contact info & will ask for Howard. And I'm all in on not driving very far on pick up day. In fact, I'm wondering if Bob's Burgers allows boon docking in their parking lot!

All kidding aside they probably would allow it. They get a lot of business from folks picking up their trailer there. It'd be interesting to know what they'd say. I can see that being very handy for someone where unanticipated delays meant that they were later in the day being able to get underway and go very far.

Or to overnight and then go to the trailer towing place near ETI.
