When I got my 21, being curious about things, I wondered what was accessed by the panel behind the toilet. Even though he had left Reace kindly told me that the cover plate wasn't to access anything, that it was a notch that allowed for them to put the shower stall in place after the two shell pieces were bonded together.

I can only assume that the ramping up of production etc. necessitated a different way of assembly. And I can see that putting the shower enclosure into the molded pieces and then having to work around them might be a bit of an obstacle.

Thanks for the update.

But that's my point: even the one exception that did exist to the "everything comes in the door or a window" rule probably doesn't exist any more. Unlike conventional RVs (such as the Taylor Coach) that are built around the cabinets and appliances, Escapes are potentially more serviceable because those things that might need to be fixed or replaced can actually be removed and replaced without destroying the outer walls.

Like this guy. All he wanted to do was replace his kitchen faucet.

Several years ago during our first egg rallies in 2016 and 2017, we met a couple that had migrated from an egg camper to the Alto with the mechanical roof that goes up and down. They showed their trailer during the rally Iike the rest of us. Very impressive.

We have an Instagram acquaintance that has the Safari Condo Alto F2414. They are going to be camping at Mammoth Cave NP just north of us this October. They are going to give us a tour of their Alto F2414. Despite our love for Olivers and Escapes (and our Casita!!!), we are going to take a peek at the Alto F2414.

What I really like about that model is that it is a tandem and uses materials that are mostly unaffected by water. One of the first places RV companies look to cut weight and cost is the axle(s) so they go to a single axle configuration and thus the safety and durability characteristics of the tandem are lost.

My post was intended as a joke. But yes, that picture came from the Rpod forum. Sagging and raised floors are a problem with Rpods.
