I can see the brand name but lettering describing mechanical components seems too much. Then there are the "S" and others distinctions. One German sport car brand I know charges when deleting the model name on the rear lid. It's worth the cost as it looks cleaner and better.

My new Sorento is red and my Escape graphics will be purple (lettering) and green (striping). Guess I'm at the other end of the spectrum...

Greg thanks for the link to the custom tire covers. Lots of gun choices there!

Brenda,
It never occurred to me to ask for different colors on the lettering and striping. What a great idea!

Sorry ... I was being a wise-guy. #6 was the character Patrick McGooan played in the old Thames Television show, "The Prisoner." His Lotus 7 was featured in the opening scenes every week.

My apologies - it was "only" a 25% restocking fee (plus shipping). None-the-less, it was their defect which necessitated my inquiry.

I'd call that understated elegance. Subtle but doesn't jump out at you like some of the brighter colors. A good alternative to stark white f.g.

Not to be too much off topic, but no, it's 100% homemade. A 3 year labor of love and beating my head against the wall. I went to the Caterham factory years ago and I was going to buy a kit but when I saw them welding up the space frames I said, heck, I can do that.

Apparently you can, and good for you. But I still think you should get a "KAR120C" plate.

But then I'd have to have that horrible farm tractor green with a yellow nose cone, maybe even yellow wheels. I wouldn't want my Escape 19 (Escape content) or my car painted those colors.

Rich, ETI said they would do a maximum of 2 colours on the graphics. I think it was an $80 charge. What's another $80??

Those wonderful colours provided my family food and shelter for many years (my dad had a John Deere dealership), but yeah, I would not paint a car (or trailer) those colours.

Hmmm... British Racing Green (BRG) is darker than John Deere green, and both are darker than Ron's car (which might be something like 106 red / 181 green / 36 blue - x6AB524 - but it's really hard to pick out of a photo and the gloss makes the colour look different), but all have their fans. The background colour of the Lotus badge is BRG, so Ron has a little bit of it on his car.
There are certainly emotional attachments to colours. Lots of Mazda Miata owners chose BRG; when the Miata appeared many thought of it as a modern interpretation of the Lotus Elan. As an owner of a cheap John Deere lawn tractor which blew up its transaxle, I wouldn't paint anything JD green... even if I liked the colour.
Some colours seem unsuitable for large areas - I wouldn't want BRG trailer - but the graphic patterns could probably use just about anything.

I have a friend who's favorites are John Deere Green and Caterpillar Yellow. But then, his everyday work vehicle is a D7 Cat, and he has a beautifully kept old JD.
I think the word typically used is "elegant"!

Brian, you are so right, as usual.
Due to my fascination with the Elan, it was not surprising I purchased a slightly used early Miata, '90 as I recall. Unfortunately it was not BRG (used) but did not disappoint. Never got the opportunity to drive an Elan but am certain the Miata, as good as it was, is no Elan in the handling department. For God's sake its a Lotus. However, unlike early British cars, it always started, no Lucas electricals.
It would be outstanding if I run across one later this week when we visit the UK.
