Broom Holder on Front Box

We have been using a small wisk broom and dustpan to save space, clutter, & weight up to now, but on the last trip my wife said she wanted a real broom. So I got busy and came up with this solution. The space between the front storage box and the front of the Escape looked like some good unused space, protected, and out of sight. I bolted a 1 1/2" pipe clamp to the back side of the front box in a position so that the broom is angled down for gravity to keep it in place and the top of the handle rests on the trailer frame. It has not been "trip tested" yet but I'm confident it will work well for us.

Clever!!

I'm always impressed by the ingenuity of camping people. I also enjoy coming up with solutions like that my own self. It's part of the fun.

Always nice to see an original mod that no one else has done. So few mods being done these days.

Depends where you're going to travel. In our case, on a lot of rough roads, there would be a lot of handle bouncing and wear, maybe even through the paint on the frame. Time will tell.

I like your idea. I too wanted a good place to put a broom since it always seemed to be in the way when not in use. But I mounted mine on the two battery boxes on the back bumper. Yes I know it partially covers the right turn signal but the light still easy to see and the rear carrier I have also has brake and turn signal lights, so it's all good.

Nice ideas. I guess I'm lucky enough to not need a mod; the 19' has plenty of room for my broom under the bed.
