We are back from a 1 month outing and have to say the counter extension for our E19 worked very well. Trouble with the door side flip up is it's in the way of door exit and for galley prep not totally convenient. For others with similar under counter range depth this may be a solution. Used an IKEA bamboo cutting board with front fiddle and it worked perfectly without cutting. Even allows for pull handle placement. Slides from aluminum 1 " angle iron to back of cabinet supports when pushed in.
In our 17B the counter extension sticks into the dinette (in our case, permanent bed) area, covers the kitchen-side AC socket when extension is folded down, and is right next to the sink. But it’s the only extendable counter space we have to chop/prep on except using the sink cover. That’s also why we Really like our little Weber grill to cook on outside when weather allows.

Very nice improvement but won"t work for our 19 because we have the oven . For the door counter yes in the way going in or out so I cut ours down . we put our drinking water there with the dolphin pump and that works great . do not need to put up or down . Pat
That is a nice amenity that is completely out of the way when not in use. For those of us with deeper recessed cooktops (i.e. Dickinson) I guess we’ll have to resign ourselves to putting a small cutting board on top of the silverware drawer.

I like the cutting board and want to work on putting one in our 21C. We have enough room between sink and stovetop for it, just above the top drawer.
Would it be possible for you to take it out and post a couple of photos of how it is secured on the sides? Did you use some type of support so it is stable? Is there some kind of catch to keep it in while traveling? What did you use to cut the slot in the cabinet facing?
