It hasn't been waxed in awhile- time to do it!- so the surface looked fine.

A friend of mine has one on her motorhome door and she really loves it. Keeps telling me to get one but I haven't really looked that far into getting one.

Thanks! I was gonna wax it soon, so I'll wait till it comes. Not like I don't have other projects to work on.

I like the black. I thought about a door handle, too, as I just grab the top and pull it in but a handle might be easier.

The door handle inside is the best mod ever! $10.00 I think at Walmart.

It'll be here tomorrow! Thanks Amazon and the USPS for getting it here so quickly. Ooo, now that I said that there will be a delay.
I'll post a photo after it's been installed. And I've washed the stuck on grass from the recent weed whacking I just did. Not using a lawn mower around the trailer - don't need any more rock-busted windows.

Thanks to Bobbie and Wetzk for posting about this magnetic door thingie. I never knew they existed. That's one of the nice things about this forum - when someone posts something that works for them and others can decide if they want it or not.
So, got the thingie today. Dirk was rather looking forward to it so he wanted to go out practically as soon as I took it out of the box. So, we trundle off to the trailer (wow, it's right next to the house - a very long trundle). Play around with it. He decided on the best location for it (hey, he's an engineer, I'll go with his decision).
Dang, does this thing has a very strong hold! I was afraid it would yank off the trailer wall or door when using it, so Dirk suggested putting some tape on the cup part. Did that and it works lots better - least for me (also remember I don't have a lot of strength in my hands). And if I need a stronger hold (such as lots of wind or whatever) I can remove the tape. But for now I can use it without thinking I'm yanking on it so hard it'll fly back in my face when the magnet releases.
Both of us like it in black. Double for this post!

Update: the door holder came loose when I was washing the trailer, plus I noted significant rust. I'm going to remount it for now, though. This is a salt-air environment which contributes to quick rusting so your mileage may vary. I think I have a second sticky pad so will re-install for now.

I’m thinking electromagnets with a rheostat to adjust the holding strength needed and a door jamb mounted on/off switch. What do you think Mr Wizard?

Our 21 has the "tension door" system and when I attached the magnet it would not hold. The two magnet pieces would not stay connected. Am I missing something? I want it to work but it doesn't seem to. Any thoughts?

I don't know what the tension door system is.

It is a type of door that Escape uses now, I guess, that will stay in what ever position you put it in. Good concept but will move when windy and my elbow found out.

It would seem like it should work if you put it where you want it and the magnet is holding it- you'd have twice the reason for it to stay. Unless it doesn't like to be open that far for some reason.

Yup, one of those less than brilliant design decisions. Somewhere in the manual it states how windy it can be for it to work. I would prefer it be open (restrained) or closed, period.
