New shower mat
Just bought a teak shower mat for our 17B. I made one for our sailboat years ago and have been thinking about one for our Escape since we bought it.
Surprised at the quality for the price, very reasonable.

Sure no prob, Amazon.ca, available on US site I’m sure probably at a much better price !
It’s 20” square so fits pretty well. It sits on plastic non-slip discs so keeps it up. I’ll give it another coat of teak oil otherwise it’s ready to go.

BTW, where did you get those nice wooden shelves along the bath wall as seen in the pictures?

I built the bathroom shelf with a few scraps of hardwood. I also built a shelf and mounted it by the entrance to hold maps, guides etc and a can of bear spray. It’s well anchored and can be used as a handhold entering the RV.

Judging by the photo, your camping pattern is rather provincial. Nice job with the woodworking!

Ha Ha ! Yes the year COVID had that effect ! Then we did the Canadian Maritimes once travel opened, but no stickers 😟. Heading to Newfoundland in June, I’ll see if we can get a few there !
Glad you like the little projects. Nice to make it your own.

Thanks for the post, Bob. I have been thinking of making one of those mats but that one on Amazon looks like it will be dandy. Also like the side rails in the shower wall shelf.
Appreciate ya!

After measuring carefully, I chose a less expensive bamboo version for my 19. Maybe teak would last longer, but if I get half the life out of the bamboo I'll be plenty satisfied with the expenditure.

Great decision ! They all function equally, and both look good. Probably my previous sailing experience influenced my choice .

I used this one for my Bigfoot
The smaller version might work for the Escape. The quality of the wood was very good and way cheaper than the teak one I bought last time. I had to cut it down a little and used water based urethane to seal it. So far so good.

Has anyone had luck with cutting these mats? The E19 shower would need a cutout to go around the wheel well.

I bought one screwed together, so I simply took part of it apart, cut off what I needed, and screwed it back together.

Yes, they can be disassembled and trimmed where needed, just ordered a new one for my Escape.

Yep, I made one of those for my 17B a few years ago. But I found I lost too much headroom in the BR, took it out and never missed it.
