Reading light type and kelvin value

Hi everyone. This is a public service announcement.

I phoned Escape and asked about the reading lights. Here is what they told me.

The lights have an MR-16 connection. The kelvin value is 5,500K. This is quite white.

Office lighting is often 4,000K and 3,000K is far less blue and quite a bit more red/yellow. It is softer than office lighting and should set off the wood in the trailer nicely. I went with 3,000K lights.

You can now go to your favorite lighting shop and find proper replacements if you like.

This link has a chart of values if you want to see them. https://www.ledlightingwholesaleinc....lvin-s/399.htm

MR16s come in GU-5 two-pin stab-in base (typically 12V) and GU-10 Twist-N-Lock base (typically 120V). I assume it's a twist lock base?

They are the GU5.3 MR-16s.

One other thing to mention about Kelvin value is that the higher the K value the bulb is the brighter they are for any given wattage. The bulbs that come in the capt. lights are only 1.2 W and the most common bulbs on Amazon are 5 to 7 W.

Not that big of a deal since LEDs are so efficient anyway but I just thought I would mention it.
