Rm2510 fridge travel latch
Our Dometic RM2510 popped open a couple times. So, like many others were started strapping it shut, but found this a pain when we wanted to quickly grab something out of it while on the road. Anyhoo, long story short I wanted as quick and easy travel latch. The attached pictures are what I came up with. I though I would share incase it is useful to anyone.
It threads into the hinge pin hole that you would use if you were going to switch the swing of the door. I had to grind away most of the thickness of the head of the machine screw to clear the fridge door. But there is still enough there to snug it up with a screw driver. I put an o-ring under the angle bracket to give it some friction so it doesn’t rattle loose, and some heat shrink on the angle bracket to cushion it a bit where it contacts the fridge door face. Some blue thread locker seems to be adequate to stop the machine screw from turning when the latch is turned.
