My 2510 has been in and out of the trailer a couple time for repair and bench testing. If you don't have a trusted shop nearby, put a call in to North Shore RV and talk to them.

Hi Kimber, give this guy a call. He’s in Victoria but he might be able to help you out. You’d have to drag your trailer down to Victoria though. We’ve used him before and he was great to deal with.

Rogers RV Repair

Or you could try Arbutus RV by the Nanaimo airport.

It may be possible for a good service tech to remove the fridge, remove the cooling unit from the rear and then ship it to one of the aforementioned Amish companies to get rebuilt. I don’t think they have the cooing units in stock for the RM2510 but they can likely rebuild yours.

On edit it looks like RV Cooling Warehouse may have RM2510 cooling units:

We are considering a rebuilt cooling unit (if we can locate one), but recognize it’s costly compared to replacing the entire fridge with a new one. Another option is replacing with a new fridge however, we are having difficulty finding a replacement fridge for the RM2510 that (a) fits through our door and (b) fits inside our existing fridge recess area. Preliminary measurements have us questioning the process of removing the existing fridge & it fitting through the door. The listed fridge measurements appear wider than our door opening?

This was quite an alarming experience, thankfully we were not inside the unit when this occurred. The fridge is now turned off and our trailer has been aired out.

We’ve absolutely adored our little trailer for the past 6.5 years & are anxious to get back on the road making memories. This is just a hiccup in our journey.

Any repair/rebuild/replacement advice or ideas for this fridge issue will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Hello all!

Thanks so much for all the discussions and helpful suggestions. Here's an update regarding the Dometic RM2510 failed cooling unit in our 2010 Escape 15B.

After much consideration, we opted to purchase an Amish rebuilt cooling unit from PInes RV Refrigeration:
https://rvcoolingunit.com/RM2510-Dom...it-P10973.aspx

Customer service was great! Ordering & shipment of the cooling unit was quick and easy. We highly recommend going this route if anyone else has experienced a failing cooling unit. Installation took some time but was fairly straightforward and Pines RV was very prompt in responding to all of our questions.

We chose to purchase a rebuilt cooling unit because a 5.0 cf replacement refrigerator is no longer available & comparably-sized replacement refrigerators would not fit through the door of our trailer.

We hope you've found this thread helpful, please feel free to reach out to us should you have questions.
