19 ft bed height
My s/o is rather short of stature. 4-11 to be exact. She finds the bed less than comfortable to get in and out of. Has anyone devised a step-up for the bed? I am pondering how to construct a combination step attached to some sliding drawers for under the bed. I would also like to not restrict access to the cabinets under the stove and wardrobe. I'm envisioning drawers with some type of step attached to the front that could be partially pulled out to serve as a step platform and could then be fully extended for access to the drawers. I've been giving this a lot of thought and I know there's got to be a way.
Anybody done something like this?

Jamman..... That appears to be a nice simple solution. Perhaps I'm overthinking this.....

How about a drawer with say, a 3 or 4 inch wide piece running inside, side to side. Pull the drawer open 6" or so, use a simple slide bolt dropping down into a hole to keep the now step in position.

You could keep an extra case of beer besides the bed in case of an emergency or for use as a step to get into the bed. Of course, if the beer is consumed before the morning, there would no longer be a step.

And whomever's drinking the beer had better be on the outside of the bed for those middle of the night visits to the loo.

Hmmm... empties work, too - as long as you buy bottles rather than cans.

Definitely want to personally empty them, not buy them that way!
