Thanks for your help. An inflatable boat is something we had not discussed but we will definitely look into it. It might be a solution for us!

Thanks for this advice. We were also thinking that a rack over the roof of the truck and extending over the hood. The restriction on towing a trailer behind a fifth wheel are something that I was not aware of but I don't think it is a good option anyway.

Thanks Bob, you have given us some really useful information. Our canoe is 15' 10" so it sounds like it may be too long for the roof rack you described. The inflatable option looks like it would definitely be fun.

Thanks for giving us the benefit of your experience. Your canoe is really light so that is helpful. Our canoe is 62 pounds and 15'10" . Putting another rack on the front bumper of the truck would probably work though.
