The extension table on our nightstand stack is deployed at all times, and I wouldn't want to be without it.
Some folks looking at our Escape 21 at the Blueb Rally (April) were surprised to see it's mounted flush with the top of the nightstand stack, so it truly extends that surface. Apparently that's no longer how ETI is mounting them, although surely they will if you tell them to.
Being mounted as high as the top of the stack, it's not really in the way of ingress/egress for the street side sleeper.
We did not get some of the extra electronics that others have ordered, so maybe that's a factor in the placement of that extension? I'm sure the person you're working with on your Build Sheet can talk you through this aspect.

We also have the counter extension on the left side of the sink. I don't use it much, but when I need it, I'm very glad it's there!

i have a 5.0 and use the one by the sink all the time no issues going in or out with it there. great place to put things/dishes etc to go inside camper also great for washing dishes. i have one on either side of the dinette nice when table is down so the sleeper can use as a night stand.

Counter Extensions?
Working on build sheet and having the u shaped dinette as our option-was wondering if we should get the counter extensions on both sides of dinette for eating when table is not up?
Thoughts on this are appreciated!

Couldn't live without the one beside the sink in our 5.0. So useful for holding chopped vegetables. Also, for the tiny dish drying rack we purchased from Escape. The drying rack fits in the sink when we are not using it.

That is just about the only place you can utilize them for eating in the 21, that is what I did in mine and plan to duplicate it again. See post #2 of this thread.

Jim, that counter extension on top of the stove came in. Couldn't find your other post that was in your escape for sale, but wanted to thank you!!! It's like it's made for it. Very happy!
THANK YOU!!
