Dometic fridge revisited - Replacement Model?

Hi, we own a 2014 17B. We have been trying to fix our Dometic fridge for almost a year. We have tried all the tricks that are on the previous forums related to Dometics not working with propane and nothing has worked. Now we give up. We are going to buy a new one. Has anyone with a 17B of similar vintage replaced their Dometic? If so, what model did you replace it with? The newer 17B has a smaller fridge (3 cu ft) and we would prefer to stay with the same size (or larger ..). Thanks for your help!

What is the model number of your fridge?

Obie: While I have no idea if this will help... In the fall of 2021 I parked out 2018 19'er on an incline overnight and that killed our Dometic, absorption (not compressor) refrigerator. What happens is the fluids in the tubing stops flowing, and the frig was "dead". I discovered a company in Riverside, CA that rebuilds the cooling tubing for absorption friges. Even though they don't technically replace the coils, they had "Sal" come in who did the work for me. Anyway, you might contact them if your problem is with the cooling coils. Dometic RM 8551 is the model that is in our 17b. Since posting, we have found a RM 8501 that is similar in size and has the same measurements as the existing. We ordered the replacement fridge yesterday and are hoping it is the solution.

thanks for the info, hopefully it is of help to someone with cooling coil problems. Our problem is with the propane. When the problem started (last year) it would start fine but go out once the fridge reached the correct temp and then could not restart, just constant clicking as it tried to restart. Now, it won't start on propane at all.
