E17A Dump Valve Reinforcement

I was just getting ready to take my first trip of 2023 and noticed a drip coming from the gray water dump valve area. Not many miles on this not yet a year old trailer, most of it highway, but when I wiggled the valve it seemed loose. The 1.5" ABS pipe was cracked just beyond the pipe brace (see photos). Too much weight and vibration beyond the pipe brace for this to hold up under constant road vibration. Fortunately my neighbor is a retired Denver Water plumber and he helped me get it fixed without purchasing anything more than ABS glue. He used several tools including a heat gun, a hack-saw, and screwdriver. With those tools he removed the piece of 1.5" ABS pipe from the back of the gate valve. We then removed the ETI supplied brace and put in a nice piece of steel and once that was installed I got a stainless hose clamp large enough to go around the valve. Much more robust now than stock from EIT.

Handy man

That neighbor of yours did a swell repair job. Return the favor, somehow.
A pack of adult beverages may be in order.

Tomorrow I help a former neighbor install a front door storm door. I still owe that fellow for his help over the years.

I try not to assume much. Assuming hasn't worked well for me.

I was suggesting.
