Until the refrigerator is switched to gas-only, it could switch between AC power and propane as the AC power comes and goes, and there might be delay in that. Once you switched it to gas-only, it should have run continuously regardless of what happened to AC power.

The electronic panel has electric first and gas second and I only use those settings. I have not tried having it go to either. Since there is a delay of a couple of minutes to turn on the refrigerator from the time the electric comes on, the refrigerator would be beeping, but don't know if that eventually stops or not and then the electric is on. Someone else here may know.
