Furnace and AC both running together

So I have had this Escape 5.0 for 5 years now and things that occur never seem to end. When I turn my furnace on, it kicks on and provides heat and works well, but also my large AC ceiling equipment goes on as well and starts blowing in air? Any idea why both of these go on when im just trying to run my furnace…….cold up here on the Gaspe!…….thanks

Is your thermostat set on manual or auto needs to be in auto mode

Hi Michael. We’re close, but it wasn’t us; our letting/stripes are dark grey. We came up from Drummondville today and are now camped at a little spot in Mon Jolie. (near Rimouski). We will be heading your way tomorrow, around the shore of Gaspe, expecting to make Forillon National Park, near Perce, tomorrow.

Perhaps we’ll see you near Parc eh Mer as we go by tomorrow!

Richard from BC

ps. we’re headed for Newfoundland - how was your time there? Hope it all worked out!

We’ll keep an eye too. We have a white Tundra and of course a 5.0 (albeit pretty dusty now!). Captaine Homard is a nice little trailer spot right on the beach. (just south of Mont Jolie).

Hi Michael. We kept an eye out but unfortunately we missed you along the road. We spent a couple of days in Forillon Natl Park along with tons of smoke from the Western Quebec wildfires. Now in Sugarloaf Provl Park in Cambelltin NB headed to PEI & then Newfoundland. I hope you had a great to The Rock! Safe journey home!

Well we made it home last night, after a long drive to Maine from just outside Campbellton. Figured we missed you that morning and you probably went by our campground as we got a late start. St Flavie was nice and we even took a drive into Rimouski. Yes we had no sun and lots of haze, was actually good to head south and get away from it…….safe travels to PEI and Newfoundland….take good notes we may have a Newfie trip in our future, so may seek u out as a tour guide. If your travels take you through Calais, Maine on your way back west, msg us.

Glad you made it home safely! If we go by your area on our way home - we’ll PM you. Funny, we’re in Stanhope Natl Park here on PEI right now and there’s a white RAM TV with a 19’ (I think) escape…….from Maine! It’s been outing today - I may walk by again later to see if they’re outside.

Richard.

I know this is a silly question, but where is the "Manual/Auto" button on the thermostat?

There is no specific "button", just a selection in the menu using the left touch pad. You need to select the "Auto" mode rather than either of the fan modes for the furnace to operate without the AC fan. Easiest way to see how the thermostat works is to watch the video that (Dave) rubicon327 links in post #7.
