Jim, it's been 7 1/2 years since I picked up our new trailer in Chilliwack, with the only windows offered at the time - sliders. I've never had to lubricate windows once. They work perfectly. Nothing wrong with lubricating the tracks, but that's not really a thing.

Of course, mine are Hehr, before they were purchased by Lippert. I dont know if the design has changed since, but my windows are something I've never had to think about. And having watched dozens of threads over the last several years concerning issues with frameless windows, I'd choose sliders every time.

My last RV with sliders before the Escape was a 2002 Bigfoot with Hehr sliders, and never a problem. I am still waiting to see what Lippert will do.

Finally an update.

First, Lippert is paying for the 12’ of run channel I purchased from them for $183.

Second, while I am hesitant to use glue, I don’t want this to happen again, and while not glued from the factory, Lippert’s instructions use it.

I can’t load the PDF I found on Lippert’s run channel repair, but here’s a link:

https://lci-support-doc.s3.amazonaws...cd-0004511.pdf

So I’m only out for the glue which is nothing more than regular cyanoacrylate.

Windows fixed, but still very tight. Will probably happen again.

Me too. Only slider lesson I learned was when trimming grass growing up through the gravel pad in the back yard. Used a string trimmer too close to the trailer, Never do that again. A local window glass company replaced the damage.

Windows are still working. I used a Loctite slow set super glue instead of the more expensive Lippert recommended super glue.

Here’s the run channel if you have the 8600 windows as I do.

I have been very pleased with the awning style windows Escape is now using, easy to open and can be left open in rainy weather.....

I agree!...Im just not sure how hard to tighten the closing handle... And what is the "303" product I hear about for the gasket lube?

303 is a UV protecter. It is designed for rubber, vinyl, plastics, fiberglass etc. You can use all kinds of things on the gasket, it’s just what we use. We use it on the fiberglass shell too. Our gasket was constantly sticking, and with all the complaints of separating frameless windows, I don’t want ours to be an issue. We hardly open the back windows, but do on occasion. We also don’t turn the closers down hard.
