Loose fitting-What is it?

Just noticed while under bench. Not connected. Wires too tight to connect. Not enough slack provided when built. How did this get by QC? What are these connections for?

I'm not sure what it is but it looks like you can take out that screw holding it to the wall, snap in the disconnected part and reposition the main block.

WAGO connectors have a habit of loosening over time. I seriously question their use in applications where bouncing, vibrations & shifting movements are frequently expected.

I would look at rerouting those wires so that they're not wrapped around the flexible water hoses.

I realize it's not required by code, but I really wish 12v junctions required some sort of strain relief for the conductors....at least for RV applications.

Send the picture to Escape and ask. They should be aware of it. They wire a lot of things too tight- try replacing your gas alarm!

The bracket on the wall is a special DIN rail bracket just to hold the WAGO connectors. I bundle and sheath wires and wrap the WAGO's in tape to keep the lock levers from popping open. I recently used them in the installation of my USB ports. I don't have any issue with using them, but that is shoddy workmanship and no quality control.

A couple of wire nuts were not installed properly in our 5.0, and one lost contact so I switched a couple to WAGOs.

I also don't trust WAGOs to keep closed when vibrating down the road, and also use electrician's tape to make sure the levers don't open (tape will also prevent the wires from moving out, if that's even possible). Others use shrink wrap.

Food for thought,

Perry
