opening cap to drain tanks
I have small and fairly old hands. I have difficulty opening the cap when I need to drain my tanks. I tried a loop wrench but cannot get it to hold or have space to turn it.
Any suggestions?

Yes, that is the other problem that I did not state. And getting the hose off after dumping.

How about silicone gloves, like the ones used for grilling or cooking?

Good find. Never seen that before. I like how it grabs 3 tabs at once. Probably gives a much more controlled application of force when the cap sticks.

Either use a quote or define them. Gloves, or wrench?
Thanks

I like the Valterra, the OP could put a stick thru the handle if need be. Maybe carry a spare!

I had the same problem and got the two piece wrench thing but have not tried it. (Opening the tank was okay, getting the RHino hose off after was not) I like that cap but it wouldn't help with the rhino.

I took 400 grit sandpaper to my neighbors Rhino fitting to reduce the lock-tab height just a small amount to make it easier to attach/detach. He countered with silicone spray on them and the valve pegs which worked well for him.

I also sit on a small folding step so I'm more at a level with the hoses and such and that works really well too. Don't have to bend over and I get a better grip on it.

But I chose the clear one. Reason being before I open the cap if there is any accidental leak from either the black or gray valve, or in rare case maybe kid's pranks I can see if the section behind the cap is empty. In case it's not I can drain what got out of the valves from the small screw cap opening on the cap itself.

What a great resource....knowledgeable folks! Thanks
I will be picking up a rhinoflex sewer fitting wrench today.
I will also order the clear sewer hose cap from Amazon if the RV store does not have one.
I also realized how easy it was to blow out the lines with the air compressor.
So have decided to get back out camping and can re-winterize very quickly!!! when needed.
Thanks everyone
