Our trailers 3 weeks old and the max air fan is on the fritz.

I started it runs for a couple seconds the green light starts flashing and a beeps for 10-15 seconds and everything shuts off and it repeats every time I try to start it. Help!

Some folks, including me, have had similar issues. I received a new circuit board and haven't had any other issues.

Some speculation that moisture or more likely, condensation on the circuit board may be the culprit.

You might be able to find previous threads by searching.

You might also try using a hair dryer and drying the circuit board and see if that does anything for you.

We replaced our circuit board and have found if the fan speed is super high it will flash green and shut off. Our solution is fast fingers, turn on the MaxxFan and get ready to hit the (-) button a couple times to slow it down. So far it has worked. We also found Airxcell to be non responsive in our requests for a warranty circuit board, within the first 2 years after purchase.

We may have had a different but similar problem. They way I fixed it is to completely shut off power to the trailer with the battery cut off switch. After that it started working again. Kinda like re-booting the system. You might try that before going further.

It has happened a second time and I haven't applied the fix to see if works this time.

I replaced my circuit board 4 times and the entire fan once. I finally just bypassed the board and installed a simple $12 dc motor switch. I prefer the rotary switch over the buttons for speed adjustment, and the simplicity of the rocker switch to turn off and reverse.

Very nice- yes, please let us know the source of your alternative switch.

Probably won't work for those with remote, yet just another reason to consider that if ordering new. We brought our own manual Maxxfan when we had our van upfitted in Portland recently as we didn't want the auto fan for this very reason.

I should mention again, before you go to all the work of changing switches etc. try drying the circuit board with a hair dryer. It's worked for me and there's no sense doing other things until you establish that it isn't condensation that's causing the problem.

I've replaced the board in mine twice. Both failures happened following condensation dripping from the unit. Problem continued after the board dried. The last time, I applied conformal coating over it. It's an acrylic clear coating like varnish - available at electronics stores. The coating prevents corrosion and/or shorts. So far so good - it's been over a year and it still works. Search my name for posts and you'll see my writeup. BTW, I did not install the voltage regulator some others concluded was necessary.

My maxxair did this as well. Hit a new circuit board installed and all was good. For a while. Did it again, but I just tried separating and re-connecting live wire and it worked fine. I’ve had to do this multiple times. Like someone mentioned above, it resets the fan. It’s a bit of a PITA but my wires are easily accessible, so not a big deal.’

Replaced my circuit board when my fan wigged out. Put conformal coating on the new one before installing and it has been trouble-free.

Our maxxfan had similar behavior right after pick up also. Maxxfann sent a new control board but we also found the ribbon cable that plugged into the existing control board would cause the fan controls to become unresponsive depending how it "flexed" when installed. I swapped the board anyway but wasn't certain the old board was even the issue. I also added a buck converter at the same time to ensure the fan received a steady 12v and all was great until this summer when it failed again.

Still keeps the mosquitoes out at least

We have exactly the same issue. The factory setting is 78degrees if it’s cooler than that it runs for a few minutes then stops and the green light starts flashing and beeping. Looking for help on this also

ETI had me pull the first two 12-volt fuses and put back in. After that it did the beeping green light thing and then I started it again and it worked just fine.

When brushing it on is there any part of the circuit board that should not be coated such as heat sinks?

yeah, don't get it on any connector pins, and avoid the heatsinks, but you want to coat all exposed conductors like solder pads and such and paint it right over components like resistors, capacitors, chips.
