Outside brake lights always on

Hello all

I have a beautiful 2017 19foot escape that I’m thrilled about!
I was wondering if someone can help me out.
With my trailer unhooked from my truck the lights on the outside back of the trailer are always on dimly lit and seems to be draining my power supply down.
I’m wondering if this is an issue that can be fixed easily. Any help in the matter would be greatly appreciated I do believe there’s a small black junction box mounted under the trailer that could have a short or blown fuse?
Cheers T

I would start by inspecting the connector on the trailer that goes into the vehicle to make sure it is dry and nothing across the pins.

Hi: TylerH... If you keep the trailer plugged in to 120V shore power you can simply jump the top two pins on the 7 pin connector to turn on the clearance/stop tail lights. I insert a 15 amp fuse into the pins either side of the key ridge. This connector probably needs cleaning as it can fill with road spray while you're towing. Alf

You don’t need to be plugged in to 120V power for this to work. With the fuse in place it’s simply powering the lights off the trailer battery.
