Unhappy Shore Power Port or Cord - No Power

Hi, all. I've been out west for nearly two months in a 21c. I was able to connect to shore power easily the first couple campgrounds. A few weeks in, it seemed the system wouldn't recognize that shore power was being provided without some extra manipulation of the 30 amp cord female plug. Obviously this should be tight to the camper, so I was a bit concerned but it was still pretty tight. From there, every time I've used it, it has become more and more finicky. EMS is on normal or bypass, etc., nothing really makes a difference. EMS clicks and sometimes whirs to life if the cord is held at some sort of magical perfect angle - has gotten more and more picky over time and now I'm in Texas about to hit 95 degrees with no shore power. It worked for like 10 minutes when I got here. I'm not sure what is up, would appreciate help. Thank you!

I'd start by checking the tightness of the screws that connect the wires on the twist lock inlet connector (the part built into the trailer).

👍

Check the wire connection on both ends. Something is loose or come apart.

Thanks for your reply - checking out the screws led to the discovery of the top right prong feeling slightly loose and hot after trying the plug again. I unscrewed everything, took out the receptacle, and found the metal around that prong was loose and a bit black and corroded. Used a nail file to clean it up, screwed in tighter, put it all back and it's working great now!

Thank you. Checking screws led to identifying the top right prong was hot and a bit loose. Took apart the receptacle, used a nail file to clean up some corrosion on that one, and put back in tighter. All works now. Very excited to not cook in here over the next three days!!
