The manufacturers of electric cars seem generally unconcerned by low-temperature parking; however, the battery is managed by the BMS which is integrated with the charging system and designed for the vehicle so there is no chance that someone charges or discharges it inappropriately... and from what I have seen in vehicle owners manuals they assume that everyone will be able to leave the vehicle plugged into a charger if parking for an extended time at low temperature, and their idea of cold is not what we would call cold here in Alberta.
