Water accumulating in battery boxes?

Hi all! We had Phoebe (new to us 2018 17A) out for the first time this weekend, in the unseasonably summerish BC weather. When I went to attach the solar panel to our house batteries, I found both boxes had about 2" of water accumulated in them. The trailer is mostly under a cover, but I've had it out a few times in the rain for reversing practice (getting better, still not great!). Should I be worried about this? If so, what do you recommend? Thanks!

I don't believe that should be a problem since the battery cases are molded plastic so water can't leak into the battery. My 2022 17A has no drain holes and the cover has vents for out gassing hydrogen which is probably allows the water to gets in. You could drill a small hole on one side of each boxes near the bottom so water will drain, just be careful not to drill into the battery case or remove the batteries first. If this is a frequent problem, check the battery cables periodically for corrosion at the posts and clean as necessary. Others here might have a different opinion.
