I agree. You can put your hand on the trailer roof in full sun and it's pretty warm. Put it on the roof under the solar panel and because it's shaded it is much cooler.

Shouldn't the wings be mounted on the SIDES of the fuselage instead of on top? You might have issues getting that thing off the ground....:)

They also sell a compressor fridge that will fit through the door of the Escape. Not nearly as nice as a NovaKool though, and it uses a Culco compressor instead of a Danfoss.

Great work Steve. You could sum it up with what was stated before: if you have adequate solar and batt capacity, a compressor fridge is a great alternative to the inadequate cooling of the Dometic.

I like Steve's insulation job, but it's not critical for the type of fridge he's installing. Would a similar insulation job benefit the absorption fridges? Sure, since it will reduce the heat...

Interesting that the fit is so tight given the dimensions supplied by NovaKool. I guess they're talking unit size and not frame size.
