I believe the battery switch only disconnects the 12v after the battery, there is still live solar feed to the batteries.

You can always order the smoke cover from the manufacturer, that is what I did on my first Escape. I have the stock cover in my garage.

.......and the reason for this is the metal frames are conducting the outside cold to the interior where the warmth will cause condensation. Less heat loss and less wiping condensation with frameless.

You can always replace that door window with a framed one, they have kits and some even open or have built in shades. I replaced mine on my Eggcamper with an opening one.

On the low speed it is silent, can not be heard, or my hearing is shot.....:) Love the sleek look of the frameless, had them in both my last 2 Escapes.
