I usually do that, too, although more because of the gurgle. (What do you do on city water? that would be more of a flood if there was a leak.)

Water pump gurgle?

The water pump works great. But if I leave it on and am not running water, every so often it gives a short gurgle, like it lost some pressure and is catching up again. Is this normal?
