You're supposed to turn city water off at the source before you leave camp. I've only ever had city water at the rallies in Osoyoos, so I haven't been following this advice.

I think it is.
But, we turn the pump on prior to opening a tap or flushing, and turn it off after. Best practice, I think, to prevent a flood if a leak develops while you are away from the trailer...
