Nice looking rig KarenH. Is the TV antenna worth it?

The drop-down shelf is just like the counter extension in all the Escape models. It measures about 8" x 16" and barely projects beyond the door frame, so it does not interfere with one (or two) sitting on the couch/bed and it serves as a drink holder. If I were ever to change my bed back to a two-person dinette, with an 8-inch depth it does touch the back cushion when dropped. It was blocked in during production.

The laminate trim is black and is the same as used in the galley (see post #2). I believe Escape has three colors of trim now: black, dark brown, and the other color... ochre?

While I won't know the true worth of the antenna until winter camping, it surely does work. One night before my family showed up, it was raining way too hard for a fire. So I fired up the television instead to see what was what. I pulled in something like 30+ stations, including all the networks, and they were crystal clear. (This was at Keystone or Fort Casey as it's called now--by the ferry to Port Angeles, Washington.)

Yep, Reace recycles as much as possible, the little drop down tables in the Escapes were originally castaways, these are the sink cutouts from the kitchen counter!!

Karen, I just saw your post and wanted to congratulate you on your new Escape! We've been doing a lot of camping over the last several weeks and have been gone... I know you've waited a long time for this and want to say congratulations again! It is a great feeling isn't it?!!

Oops...

That ferry goes to Port Townsend, not Port Angeles. And I forgot to mention that thanks to others' suggestions on this forum, I had my propane guy assemble a fitting so that I could run my Coleman stove directly off my main propane tanks. He put a valve on there insisting that I bleed off the propane when finished cooking so as to prevent gumming up of the line and the stove fitting. Worked like a charm!

Karen,
Could you tell me your color choice names for the counter tops, floor, and black trim. I'm thinking of the same for the 21', I like your choices.

Thank you very much! The counter laminate is Formica Mineral Olivine (Radiance Finish) 3447-RD with the standard black trim that Escape has available now. The flooring is Congoleum Ultima Sandstone (Jalapeno). I ordered it not knowing how much Escape pays for their standard vinyl, thinking how bad could the upcharge be? I found out when I got the bill. Escape pays $6 per square meter (!!) for theirs and the Congoleum product was $41 per square meter so the upcharge was over $400. Surprise. But I love it and don't regret it a bit.

No, the upcharge for a custom laminate is only $40 regardless of what you choose...at least it was when mine was in production. The vinyl upcharge would be more for a 5.0, I believe, as there is more floor space. It would be whatever the difference is between the per-square-meter prices (mine was $35 per square meter) times the amount of vinyl required. I don't know if there is an additional $40 upcharge for stocking it or not.

The upcharge for the laminate on our 19 is $100 plus another $100 for the radiance finish.
