Propane, battery just does not keep it cold enough, but propane does.

I chose the two-way fridge ( AC and propane ) rather than three-way ( AC, propane and DC ) after Reace explained to me that if you leave camp with a low battery ( night of furnace use for instance ) and drive to your next camp with the fridge on DC, you will arrive with a low battery. The tow vehicle is not capable of delivering enough DC power to charge the battery while running the fridge.

If you are going to do that anyway, you need 10 gauge wiring in the tow.

Is it just the angle of the photos or should I be able to see the solar panels on top? We had 2 installed, but I haven't seen any yet. Are they just added last?

It could be the angle as I could only see our solar panel in a couple of our pictures. I did note that I could see it prior to the door being installed, so I don't think its installed at the end of the process. Might as well call if you're worried!

Picked up our new 5.0TA today

These shots are at Bob’s Burgers where we had some lunch before heading home. Really happy with how everything turned out.

It may vary depending on what's going on in production, but our solar panel was visible in the very first build photo they sent, before much had been done at all. I would think they need to run the wiring before the headliner goes in.

It's also possible they ran the wiring but were temporarily out of stock on the solar panels and have to add them at the end. On our final build pics one window was missing and the hole was taped over awaiting a shipment to arrive.

In looking at this photo I realized that it was probably taken in the headliner shop - it was the first one they sent and the headliner is visible but not complete. The headliner shop that burned down....

Mighty Nice! I'm gonna have to send this picture to an old friend who lives on Whidbey Island. I haven't seen him in 14 years and in 8 weeks and 4 days he's suppose to meet up with me and my brother at Bob's Burgers.

No shelf over bed

It looks like all cabinet doors are installed, except for the one above the microwave cabinet (actually the "sans microwave cabinet" for us!) as we're going to install that ourselves as I have some hinges for it that'll keep the door open.

Both sets of tires/wheels are now on - last batch of photos The Trailer didn't have any on (and yes, I know what that means! It's gonna get moved soon!).

All flip-up tables are installed (one at end of kitchen counter by the door, one on the extended cabinet by the bed and one each on either side of the dinette area). Oooo, I see the screw caps that I'm gonna replace are on (in the kitchen area).

I see the windows still have those icky black thingies in the corners sticking out. I thought they wouldn't be there since we're not getting the blinds so I guess I'm emailing ETI to ask about that. Yuck!

And I see our frig has some tattoos on it! HA!

Enjoy! I know we are.
Laura and Dirk - our build sheet is due in 7 days and I'm going thru this thread and looking at interior pictures. I notice you don't have the little shelf over the bed. Brenda liked to read in bed and lean against the wall in the Casita. We want the function of the shelf but are concerned her head or neck will bump against the shelf. Is that the reason you eliminated the shelf?

We are considering reinforcing the wall between bed and bath and relocating the shelf. Also I just this morning started wondering about a half shelf only on my side of the bed if it can be anchored.

Thoughts

Also looking for advice on traveling with 3 cats. My daughter is driving from Roanoke, VA to Salem, OR in a Subaru Forester with her 3 cats. They leave by June 30 and expect to arrive in Salem around August 1. One of the cats (Grayson) was "misappropriated" in November 2017 and not returned for many, many months, creating much panic. I worry about 1 of the cats getting loose during that month.

Advice?

-Thanks

I find the shelf a pain in the neck. I also like to read while sitting up but you have to slouch because of the shelf. It is a great shelf for your glasses, book etc. A shelf on the bathroom wall would be better. We asked it it could be higher and were told no.

That stock shelf is indispensable, IMHO. We lean back against the bath wall (reinforced) or the window wall. I installed an extra light on the underside cabinet there for reading.

You could put one, two or maybe more, lager wall pocket panels on the bathroom wall without having to reinforce it. Should be around the corner and mostly out of sight from people peaking in the trailer door.

Here a link to the modification. The largest runs about $19 Canadian each and the link is in the post following the mod post.
