Hope you make it. It's not every day that I get the chance to drive 2-1/2 hrs to meet someone that lives 20 minutes away.

I read about the amazing quality and lack of defects from those plants manufacturing equipment for Allied WWII troops. Your mom was one of those responsible for that!

Just made my reservations for site 102. Looks like a few others have also reserved. With ETI rally in May this will be my second chance to meet some of you face to face, can't wait to get the trailer.

Steven,
Glad to see you are signed up. By late September you'll be an old hand at this Escape
thing. Illinois has some nice state parks as well as some great Corps of Engineers facilities.
As a short sidetrip from Thompson the Mississippi Palisades is just upriver from Savannah. It's a beautiful piece of land but unfortunately needs extensive infrastructure updating. Looking forward to meeting another Midwesterner in Osoyoos.

Eric,
What an honor to have an international traveler in our midst. As of your posting I calculate there are at least 10 fiberglass campers signed up for this rally. Lots to do in this area up or down the river.

Finished the reservation this AM as we moored in the caldera of an ancient volcano in Santarini Greece, quite a beautiful place

I spent about an hour studying up on your location. The history of that area from a civilization, geologic and crossroads of ancient societies standpoint is fascinating. I learned that one of the seasonal winds that blows there brings sand and is called a scirocco, model name for a VW from years back. Looks like the viticulture industry is solid there too.

That's a pretty clear statement: I'd call it black and white. She's the modern combination, she's the Badger Cannonball.

We nabbed 117.

By my early count, it looks like there will be at least four 2017s coming. That should be fun to see.

Eric,
Glad you had access to book from Santorini. When we were there a few years ago, Earline organized a bus ride to Oia and a hike back to Fira for a dozen or more of our new ship friends. Watch out for those donkeys and mules with the face masks.

Jim,
Looking forward to comparing thoughts on the Eco-Diesel. I undertand Fiat/Chrysler has been banned from selling them all since September. Happy with ours, so far.

We would like to return, but with 5 rallies within 4 weeks of one another, September/October is starting to look crowded. Have to pick and choose....Algonac,Niagara,Missisiippi,Cape Hatteras,LBL are all really nice .What happened to June, July,August....they are empty!

The Count

My count this morning shows 13 campers signed up at this time with a count of 47 camping nights. About a half dozen are staying yet Sunday night and departing on Monday. If the weather is warm and reasonably dry the river road area is pretty busy on the weekends, especially with the hardly dangerous motorcycle crowd.

Is anyone else having trouble making reservations? I'm trying to create an account but there is a "Recreation .gov" banner right in the middle of the screen.

Apparently it's picky about what browser you use. Customer service says either Fire Fox or Safari.
