Campgrounds around here won't even let you wash the bugs off your vehicle much less fill a pool. Looks like it could be fun if you were off somewhere in the outback, a lot of work, but fun.

Believe it or not, California issues are not always issues everywhere else. There are many places where water is plentiful and it could be fun to bring a portable hot tub along on a trip. Of course, that would not be appropriate where water is in short supply. I have heard of people bringing a portable hot tub on a remote canoe trip in northern Saskatchewan. They seemed to enjoy it, and water shortages were not an issue for them. Of course, it was unlikely that they used propane to heat their water.

Has anyone seen one of these hot tubs on a campground? I doubt it. And I doubt you ever will. It's just a gimmicky add-on and not worth bringing one's blood to a boil.

Any kind of hot tub needs chlorine, additional chemicals and testing equipment to ensure the water is safe to immerse yourself in. Just using 250 gallons of untreated water can get you seriously sick.
It's a novelty item at best and a liability at worst. May as well use the pool in many campgrounds. It's professionally maintained and the pee in the pool is far more diluted.

How about a "natural" hot tub. There are some great hot springs around that can be very nice to visit. Here is the Lussier hot springs in SE BC. We had a great time in this area. Of course, there was no chemicals or chlorine added to the water to make it safe, but we survived.

That looks wonderful. I may put that on my bucket list. And I won't bring any chlorine.

Hot springs in the Mountains ... now we are talking. And the real ones , not the like the ones in Banff and Radium that are glorified swimming pools

I've heard of that area and would love to go there. I'll bring a case of wine and a gallon of chlorine.

Neighbor found about a two foot long gator in his yard this past weekend that had his mouth taped shut with electricians tape. Terribly cruel. Gator expert estimated he hadn't eaten in maybe 6 months. Took the tape off and he ate ground up shrimp right away. They let him go in the bayou to grow up. If you come to south Louisiana better bring more than chlorine....and don't come till November!

Animal cruelty makes my blood boil.
But to stay on topic, I think the hot tub thingy is a hoot! Don't want one, wouldn't use one, but still. I see a lot of "strange" (to me) things done when folks want to go camping that I wouldn't consider, ever. Like a home A/C unit sticking out a window of a TENT, etc., etc. Who am I to tell folks what they should do or want? I live in the Pacific NorthWET and most months out of the year if we don't use the water for something... it heads for the ocean via rivers and streams. At least with a portable hot tub, when draining the water it can be used to "water" the area scrubs and trees.... along with the ice water from the coolers!

I did notice that the manufacturer is located in Portland, OR., where there's lots of water.
So it's OK if you're in an area that has no water shortages. Enjoy.

Water flows downhill, and BC, Washington and Oregon have lots, so what's California's problem?
